Description
The REDMAGIC Astra is a compact, performance-oriented gaming tablet. For the 24 GB + 1 TB “Eclipse” edition, it is built around the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, paired with LPDDR5T memory (24 GB) and UFS 4.1 Pro storage (1 TB). Its display is a 9.06-inch OLED panel with a 2,400 × 1,504 resolution (roughly 2.4K), and offers a refresh rate up to 165 Hz in gaming mode. Touch sampling reaches up to 2,000 Hz, aiding responsiveness for fast action games. The panel can hit a peak brightness of about 1,600 nits, with typical full-screen brightness around 1,100 nits.
To manage heat, the tablet uses a 13-layer ICE-X cooling system combining vapor chambers, liquid metal thermal compounds, graphene and copper foils, thermal gels, and a 20,000 RPM turbofan. The battery is an 8,200 mAh dual-cell pack, supporting fast charging (advertised up to 80 W) for rapid recharging. Audio is delivered via dual 1620 stereo speakers with DTS:X Ultra 3D support, along with dual X-axis linear motors for haptic feedback.
On the imaging side, it has a 13 MP rear camera with AI enhancements, and a 9 MP front camera (for video calls, selfies). The tablet supports connectivity via Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax), Bluetooth 5.4, and a USB-C port (USB 3.2 Gen 2) capable of up to 10 Gbps data transfer and DisplayPort Alt Mode for external displays. Sensors include fingerprint (side-mounted), ambient light, accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, etc.
Its body measures around 207 × 134.2 × 6.9 mm and it weighs approximately 370 g. The operating system is REDMAGIC OS 10.5 based on Android 15, with a gamer-centric UI, Game Space features, and support for accessories and peripherals. The exterior includes RGB lighting, and a dedicated “Magic Key” slider for toggling into game mode. It also has an IP54 rating for ingress protection against dust and splashes.
